Commissioning Reinosa – Barcena

Commissioning Reinosa – Barcena

During a scheduled four-day shutdown, from June 12th to 16th, Enyse has completed the renovation of the signaling and communications systems on the Sopeña – Cobejo section. Specifically, Sopeña’s interlocking was modified to enable the new block with the new Reinosa interlocking. In addition, the Lantueno, Pesquera, Montabliz and Cobejo interlocks were commissioned.

In Cobejo station, a connection was established with the existing block controller with Bárcena. LED signals have been installed along the entire section. Regarding the detection systems, audio-frequency track circuits have been installed in the main line and the axle counters have been installed on switching areas and the siding tracks.

This route is integrated into the conventional Palencia – Santander line and is another one that joins the work already completed to replace the Mataporquera, Pozazal, and Sopeña interlockings, with a total of 53 kilometers of updated facilities.

These works include the adaptation of the facilities to the Santander CRC systems, which manages the Mataporquera – Santander route, integrating the Santander – Reinosa commuter rail section and providing access to the Raos Port from Muriedas station.

These works contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals which has among its goals, the development of reliable, sustainable, resilient and quality infrastructures.

Once again, Enyse would like to express its gratitude for the efforts and ongoing cooperation of Adif’s areas of Operations, Operational Risks and Maintenance Department of the RC North line.
