New Commissioning at Vicálvaro Mercancías

Enyse has commissioned a new phase of the enhancement of the Vicálvaro Mercancías station, including tracks 6, 7, 27, 29, 31 and 33, the connection with O´Donnell station thru track ZZA plus the link of tracks 5 to 9 and T1 of the North side. The upgrade will also support the upcoming connection with track 3 of Vicálvaro Cercanías – the commuters’ station. The works have included the update of the existing Enyse’s EiS23 interlocking and all related works for infrastructure, track and catenary.

Vicálvaro Mercancías opened in 1972 as a Classifying Station and is being transformed since 2019 into the most important railway logistic hub in the Iberian Peninsula, acting as a connection between the Atlantic and Mediterranean corridors. This new phase currently allows Enyse’s EiS23 interlocking to control 310 wayside signals’ aspects, 95 point machines and 114 track circuits, allowing the establishment of 717 routes.

From Enyse, we want to thank again the unconditional availability of Adif’s Maintenance Direction of Madrid as well as their Project Management and Technical Assistance
