AV Camera-based Object Detection System, DOCAVA
18.08.2022
Enyse has been awarded with the contract for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of an Artificial Vision Camera-based Object Detection System (DOCAVA) for 11 Level Crossings at Adif’s network. The contract includes as well the specific engineering activities needed for the installation of the system, which will take into account the particular environment of each crossing.
Object detection systems at Level Crossings are designed to grant the Safety of the railway and road traffics. However, they may be supported by other systems, reporting obstacles or undue detections at the intersections between rail and road.
In this environment, Enyse has developed a new Object Detection System using Artificial Vision Cameras. These systems will allow the gradual replacement of the current object detectors using loops by a new generation, more reliable state-of-the-art technology, which will also require less maintenance.
This new camera system is based in the use of video analysis technologies. At the Level Crossing area, a series of video cameras will be installed covering the intersection of the railway track with the vehicles’ road zone. The system continuously processes the images taken by the cameras and is capable of detecting the presence or absence of obstacles at the crossing and thus communicate its state to the railway Signalling logic.
For the contract execution, Enyse relies on the technical support in the field of artificial vision of ITERA TÉCNICA SL, a technological company with a wide experience offering specialized engineering services.
